Pretty good day today. Started to work out leaving work with the boss, latest will be Feb 9th. Got an email back from the boat broker, and the previous owners of Cypraea didn't fill out their deletion from the USCG registration form correctly, so Stan (the broker) did it and we should have the final document needed for Canadian Vessel registration by the end of the week or early next week. And the guy at the Canadian vessel registration office was really nice, and last month he just started the process and it will all be finalized when we get him that document. So patience for a few more weeks, and things seem to be falling into place.

It should be interesting what happens at the border: a young couple in a beat up old van driving across the country with their life packed into the back. "Could you please pull over to the side sir." SNAP goes the latex gloves.  "Please open your back door." yikes!

All kidding aside the US border crossings are not all that bad.

We are starting to plan our provisioning to buy items needed (and boat parts) in lower cost states (like Oregon with no sales tax!). So far we've been planning on stocking up on staple foods and household items, and buy our fresh food where ever we are. People live there, so there must be food. I'm getting stoked for the culinary adventure I get to go on. I got my "Joy of Cooking" and an adventurous palate. Poor Jennie, Lucky Dex! We're even looking at loading up on gas (jerry cans) in the states with the cheapest gas. A modern twist on traditional commerce.

Still lots to do, and we are getting very excited. I'm also excited to start working on the boat, and Jennie is stoked to get the interior spic and span. Can't wait to move into our new home.
